NH NongHyup Financial Holding said on Jan. 25 it held a launch ceremony on Jan. 23 for its Productive Finance Special Committee at the National Agricultural Cooperative Federation headquarters building.

The event was attended by about 40 people, including Chairman Lee Chan-woo (이찬우), committee members and other officials.

The Productive Finance Special Committee will operate four subcommittees for systematic group-wide implementation: venture capital and equity, promotion of investment and lending, the National Growth Fund, and inclusive finance.

It will serve as the control tower for NongHyup Financial’s key tasks, aimed at a major shift to productive finance that leads a major economic leap, improving financial access for vulnerable groups and easing financial burdens. Key tasks include expanded venture capital and equity investment, expanded loans to support corporate growth, funding support for advanced strategic industries, and stronger inclusive finance.

The group also held a contest timed to the committee’s launch. It selected 4 productive finance ideas focused on innovation and 2 inclusive finance ideas focused on social impact. It plans to pursue early commercialisation after working-level review.

A plaque-unveiling ceremony for the Productive Finance Special Committee was also held, with Lee and committee members in attendance. Lee stressed that productive finance should go beyond simply responding to government policy and play a leading role in improving the quality of NongHyup Financial’s assets and a major transformation of South Korea’s economy.
