Insung Digital, an IT solutions distributor, said on Thursday it signed a South Korea distribution agreement with global software supply chain security company Sonatype.
Under the deal, Insung Digital will supply an open-source management and security platform in the domestic market. It explained that the agreement will expand its business portfolio from a focus on network and perimeter security into security at the application development stage.
Insung Digital will supply Sonatype products including Nexus Repository, which centrally manages binary artifacts, Repository Firewall, which analyses and blocks external open-source packages in advance, Lifecycle, which automatically applies security policies across the development process, and SBOM Manager, which supports generating an SBOM based on international standards.
Seung-pil Cho (조승필), CEO of Insung Digital, said Sonatype is a platform that can manage overall open-source usage from development through deployment. He said the distribution agreement would expand education and marketing, along with activities to raise security awareness among local developers, to create a safer environment for using open source.
