LS Group has continued its neighborly love donation for a 17th year. LS Group said on Thursday it donated 2 billion won to the Community Chest of Korea to support vulnerable groups. Six affiliates participated in raising the funds: LS Cable & System, LS Electric, LS MnM, LS Mtron, E1 and INVENI.

LS has donated to the Community Chest of Korea every year since 2009. The donation made this year is expected to be used across a range of areas, including basic living support for socially vulnerable groups, improvements in education and housing environments, health and medical support, and strengthening social care.

LS Group is carrying out a range of social contribution activities with the Community Chest of Korea. It has opened and is operating the LS Dream Center. The space is an education and cultural facility that supports families formed through marriages between Koreans and Vietnamese.

LS donated funds last year to support recovery from wildfires in the Yeongnam region and damage from heavy rain. It also holds an annual kimchi-making and sharing event for underprivileged groups in Anseong.

CEO Won-hyung Ahn (안원형) said, "We have consistently made donations over the past 17 years, and I am glad that this year the six LS Group companies have been able to come together with one heart and participate in sharing." He added, "Based on the LS partnership that creates greater value by working together, we will continue to actively take part in sustained sharing activities and take the lead in fulfilling our corporate social responsibility."
