Lam Research Korea said on Thursday it received Authorized Economic Operator (AEO) certification from the Korea Customs Service. It said the certification proves its logistics security capabilities and recognizes its efforts on compliance with international trade rules and supply chain stability.
AEO certification is an accredited programme granted under World Customs Organization standards. It requires meeting strict criteria including legal compliance, internal control systems, financial soundness and security management. Certified companies receive benefits such as simplified export-import customs clearance procedures.
Lam Research Korea holds a top-tier AAA rating under the voluntary compliance programme (CP) for traders designated by the Ministry of Trade, Industry and Energy. It has now achieved dual certification by also securing AEO status.
With the AEO certification, it will receive administrative preferential treatment and simplified customs clearance procedures. It said this will allow it to quickly supply key equipment and parts to domestic customers' semiconductor fabs.
Park Jun-hong (박준홍), head of Lam Research Korea, said, "As global trade security barriers rise, obtaining AEO certification following the CP AAA rating shows Lam Research's firm commitment to compliance and robust supply chain management." He said, "Based on an enhanced logistics security system, Lam Research will supply advanced equipment and solutions to customers quickly and stably, and further solidify its role as a trusted partner in the semiconductor ecosystem."
