Naver said on Thursday it published a "Naver Personal Data Protection Report" summarising its personal data protection activities in 2025, and a "Naver Privacy White Paper" containing specialist privacy research findings.
Naver has disclosed its efforts and activities to protect personal data transparently through an annual personal data protection report since 2012. The 2025 report introduces key personal data and privacy protection activities and issues from 2025, including responses to domestic regulations, strengthening transparency, raising awareness of personal data protection and reinforcing cooperation with partner companies. It also disclosed in detail a range of activities carried out to protect personal data, including a revamp of its Privacy Center, hosting a privacy bootcamp for children and teenagers, operating a trustee inspection system, and personal data protection consulting and counselling programmes for partner companies.
The 2025 Naver Privacy White Paper includes research findings on legal issues for personal data protection in an AI agent environment by Kim Byung-pil (김병필), a professor at KAIST Graduate School of Management of Technology, and on resetting the scope of indirectly identifiable information and personal data processing systems by Koo Tae-eon (구태언), a lawyer at Law Firm Lin. Naver has published an annual privacy white paper since 2015 that compiles specialist research results from academia and the research community on personal data protection and privacy.
