Hanwha Investment Securities said on Thursday it has signed a memorandum of understanding with digital wallet platform company Kresus to cooperate on building digital asset infrastructure.

The agreement was signed at Abu Dhabi Finance Week 2025, where Hanwha financial affiliates Hanwha Life Insurance, Hanwha General Insurance, Hanwha Asset Management and Hanwha Investment Securities participated jointly. The company said the deal aligns with its strategy to transform into a digital asset-focused securities firm.

Under the agreement, the two companies plan to expand their partnership across Web3-related businesses, including digital wallets and tokenisation, blockchain technology development and personnel exchanges.

Hanwha Investment Securities Chief Executive Jang Byung-ho said Kresus’ customer-tailored technology design capabilities would be an important foundation for its digital asset business. He said the company aims to establish itself as a leading securities firm providing innovative services using blockchain and Web3 within the regulatory framework.
