KT said on Thursday it ran the 2026 AICE Future Artificial Intelligence Winter Camp with the National Busan Science Museum during the winter break.
The camp was held for 2 nights and 3 days from Jan. 20 to Jan. 22 at the Busan Science Education Camp Center. About 100 students, ranging from prospective elementary school fourth graders to middle school third graders, took part. Through training and testing for AICE Future Level 1 and Level 2, an AI competency certification exam developed and operated directly by KT, participants learned step by step from basic AI concepts to problem-solving skills.
Along with the AICE Future curriculum, the programme included expert lectures and Q&A sessions with working AI developers. The National Busan Science Museum also ran a nighttime astronomy observation programme, giving participants an opportunity to increase their interest in science.
AICE Future is an entry-level grade designed to allow a broad range of people to take on the challenge, including elementary and middle school students, learners unfamiliar with AI and coding, and seniors who want to understand AI easily and in a fun way. Linked to AI-related units covered in practical arts (technology and home economics) and information subjects under the revised 2022 curriculum, it allows students to learn alongside school classes and naturally absorb AI concepts.
Jin-youngsim (진영심), an executive director in charge of education business cooperation at KT's Talent Office, said, "KT is building a standard for AI capability through AICE, from AI learning linked to school curricula to adults and seniors." She added, "This camp is a case that confirmed on the ground the educational value of AICE Future, the starting point."
