AI infrastructure company Ravelup said on Tuesday it signed a strategic partnership with British high-performance computing (HPC) specialist Boston Limited at MWC 2026 in Barcelona to distribute and sell the Backend.AI platform in the EMEA (Europe, Middle East and Africa) region.
Under the partnership, Boston Limited will sell Backend.AI cloud services (SaaS) and on-premise software licences directly to end customers in EMEA. It will also provide professional services such as installation, configuration and consulting. The two companies plan to build local sales and technical support systems using Boston Limited's customer network in EMEA and its HPC infrastructure distribution capabilities.
Backend.AI is a software-defined AI infrastructure platform developed by Ravelup. It integrates and manages heterogeneous AI semiconductors on a single platform, including Nvidia, AMD, Intel and South Korean-made NPUs. The platform can operate an entire cluster as a single resource pool regardless of GPU or NPU type. The company said it reduces adoption costs and operational complexity for enterprise AI infrastructure through container-level GPU partitioning virtualisation technology and its self-developed Sokovan orchestrator.
Ravelup Chief Revenue Officer Jeongmuk Kim (김정묵) said, "To expand Backend.AI distribution beyond Asia and North America to EMEA, a partner with a deep understanding of the local market was essential." He said, "We judged Boston Limited's customer network and technical sales capabilities, built on more than 30 years of supplying HPC infrastructure in EMEA, to be the most suitable partner for Backend.AI to settle into this market. We will work closely together to build the best technical support system for local customers."
