Hancom With, an affiliate of Hancom Group, has separated the liveness detection technology that is a core function of its Hancom Auth face authentication solution and launched it as a standalone product in the form of a server SDK and API, the company said on Wednesday.
The company said Hancom Auth Liveness supports immediate adoption by companies that need only spoofing detection, without building a separate face authentication system from scratch.
As face authentication bypass attacks using image composites, video and 3D masks become more sophisticated, companies increasingly need to strengthen security. Hancom With said it made the product lightweight so that security can be enhanced without replacing an existing face authentication solution, by connecting only the API in a plug-in format. It added that this can reduce implementation time and costs without changing core logic or redeveloping systems.
Hancom Auth runs in a general CPU environment without expensive GPUs, the company said. It said real-time liveness verification is possible with a single portrait photo, enabling fast and accurate spoofing detection while minimizing server resources.
Sang-yeop Song (송상엽), chief executive of Hancom With, said changing all existing infrastructure to strengthen security is a major cost burden for companies. He said Hancom Auth Liveness would be the most efficient option to raise spoofing 대응 수준 to the highest level with minimal procedures while keeping existing systems as they are.
