[DigitalToday reporter Seul-gi Son (손슬기)] Local community platform Daangn said on Thursday it has officially opened its interest-based online community service, Cafe, in Seoul, Gyeonggi and Incheon.
Daangn Cafe is an online space where neighborhood residents gather around specific topics to share information. Unlike the existing meet-up service, which focuses on offline activities, users can share interests or concerns through posts without being constrained by time or place. The exposure range is applied at the city and district level rather than the neighborhood unit, broadening communication.
The service operates a total of 17 categories, including health, games and the economy. When opening a cafe, AI automatically recommends a category that matches the cafe name. It also applies a feed structure that shows post titles first and a dedicated editor to improve users' access to information and readability.
Daangn is also running a monetisation promotion for cafe operators to boost activity. It will support cafe operators in the capital area to generate up to 200,000 won a month depending on operating performance.
A Daangn official said, "We upgraded the features to meet users' needs to communicate around shared interests online as well." The official added, "We will expand the Cafe service to more regions."
