Woori Bank said on Tuesday it will run its 'mobile bill freedom declaration' event through March 31, lowering the perceived cost of mobile bills to 0 won for new customers who open its budget mobile service, Woori WON Mobile.

All new customers who sign up during the event will receive 30,000 won in Naver Pay (Npay) points as a basic benefit. Depending on each individual's membership grade, the bank will also provide additional mobile coupon benefits worth up to 60,000 won a year.

It will also offer benefits worth up to 370,000 won a year, including special promotional discounts and Woori Financial Group integrated points, known as Kkul Money, to customers who subscribe to 12 major plans. The plans include four Youth Dream plans, five Double Coupon plans and three Value-for-money plans.

The first 5,000 customers to subscribe to the newly introduced Samsung Wallet Money plan will receive 120,000 Samsung Wallet Money points. If customers add up additional points earned for topping up and registering for automatic payments through a Woori Bank account, along with basic membership benefits, they can receive benefits worth up to 300,000 won a year.

The bank will also run a friend referral event that pays Kkul Money up to a limit of 1,000,000 won when customers recommend the service to acquaintances.

Se-ra Yoon (윤세라), deputy head of Woori Bank's WON Mobile business division, said the event was carefully planned to significantly reduce the mobile bill burden that customers can actually feel in an era of high inflation. She said the bank will continue to expand customer benefits that help in everyday life and firmly establish itself as a leading budget mobile brand that contributes directly to reducing household living costs.
