Naver Cloud said on Tuesday its AI work collaboration tool, Naver Works, has been selected as the official collaboration platform for the Ministry of the Interior and Safety, the Ministry of Science and ICT and the Ministry of Food and Drug Safety.

The selection is part of a pilot project for an “intelligent work management platform” promoted by the interior and safety ministry and the science ministry. It follows a roughly three-month pilot service run since November for some central government agencies. The tool was adopted after a comprehensive assessment including functionality, security and user convenience.

Naver Works is provided on government administrative networks in software-as-a-service form with Cloud Security Assurance Program (CSAP) certification. Strengths cited include the ability to use generative AI functions safely on internal networks, such as “Clova Note,” which automatically summarizes meeting content, and “AI Studio,” which allows users to build AI assistants tailored to ministry work.

During the pilot service period, about 9,500 civil servants used the tool. In an interior and safety ministry survey, about 97 percent of respondents rated their experience positively.

Naver Cloud plans to expand the service to more than 700,000 civil servants, including those in central ministries, based on the results. It also plans to add a multimodal model that processes text and images together within the year.

Kim Yu-won (김유원), CEO of Naver Cloud, said, “We will devote all our efforts to support administrative innovation so that AI becomes part of everyday life for all institutions.”
