The Korea Association for ICT Promotion (KAIT) held the "KAIT Information and Communications Technology Qualification Top Scorers Awards Ceremony" on Jan. 21.

The ceremony, held in KAIT's main auditorium, was the first event to expand awards for perfect scores across all information and communications technology qualification categories run by KAIT. Through 2024, the ceremony focused on perfect scorers in a single category, Digital Information Utilization Ability.

This year, KAIT selected top scorers across all 7 information and communications technology qualification categories: Digital Information Utilization Ability, Linux Master, AI Utilization Ability, Coding Utilization Ability, Search Advertising Marketer, SNS Advertising Marketer and Metaverse Development Specialist.

The grand prize went to Kwan-woo Kim (김관우), a teacher at Gimhae Bunseong Girls' High School, who recorded perfect scores in 6 subjects. The top excellence award went to Yong-han Yoon (윤용한), a sixth-grade student at Saebom Elementary School in Incheon, and Yul Shin (신율), a fourth-grade student at Jeonil Elementary School in Jeonju, who earned perfect scores in 4 subjects. The excellence award was given to 22 people who achieved perfect scores in 3 subjects.

KAIT also selected 273 encouragement award winners who achieved perfect scores in 2 subjects, confirming learning achievement cases across a range of age groups from adults to elementary school students.

KAIT presented an outstanding instructor award to educators who contributed to boosting exam participation and spreading educational outcomes. A total of 26 people received the award, including instructors who produced the highest number of examinees by region and those who achieved the highest average scores by region.

Among KAIT's information and communications technology qualifications, Digital Information Utilization Ability (DIAT), considered a representative qualification, was first introduced in 2001. Under the Elementary and Secondary Education Act, it is entered into high school student records, and up to 6 credits are recognized under the Act on the Recognition of Credits, providing various benefits.

Chang-hee Lee (이창희), KAIT's executive vice chairman, said, "KAIT will continue to enhance the credibility of the qualification system so that anyone, regardless of age or environment, can systematically validate digital capabilities and grow."
