Kang Yong-nam, the new CEO of HP Korea.

HP Korea said on Tuesday it has appointed Kang Yong-nam (강용남) as its new CEO. Kang will oversee HP Korea’s business in South Korea and plans to strengthen competitiveness across corporate and consumer markets, centered on AI-based PCs and next-generation printing solutions. With the shift to AI- and cloud-based work environments accelerating, the company plans to push an integrated solutions strategy aimed at boosting productivity and security.

Kang has built more than 25 years of experience in the global IT industry. He has led consumer and commercial businesses across South Korea and the wider Asia-Pacific region, overseeing regional strategy, operations and growth.

At HP Korea, he served as an executive in the Printing and Personal Systems (PPS) group and also led commercial sales strategy.

“Now, as AI reshapes the work environment, this is the time for HP Korea to accelerate change further based on the strengths it has built up,” Kang said. “Based on HP’s ‘Future of Work’ vision, I will focus on strong execution and visible results. Through AI PCs and next-generation printing solutions, I will raise customer productivity and security by another step while further strengthening HP’s leadership in the South Korean market,” he said.
