Fasoo said on Tuesday it has built an "AI service" for the Korea Institute of Science and Technology (KIST) by applying the latest AI and data security technologies based on its on-premises AI platform, Ellm.

As part of AX, KIST aims to streamline internal administrative work through AI and accelerate the pace of research. It built the AI service with Fasoo and will provide a "smart document search service" and an "R&D plan draft-writing service".

Ellm, Fasoo's enterprise AI, is an sLLM-based AI platform. It supports tailored deployments across industries and fields for tasks such as report writing, internal data analysis and customer response. It can be linked with Fasoo's data protection and management solutions to apply consistent security policies from training data to outputs or to protect personal information.

Fasoo said the KIST project put an emphasis on security and used its security capabilities and the latest RAG technology to implement a RAG pipeline for safe use of internal data, linkage with security access permissions applied by data type, detection and de-identification of personal information through its AI-based personal information protection solution AI-R Privacy, an intent router function that directly calls real-time information such as employees' leave status from internal databases, and source verification functions to minimise hallucinations.

Fasoo CTO Kyung-gu Yoon (윤경구) said the company plans to continue expanding the application of agentic AI so that the KIST AI service, which innovates work productivity and efficiency while maintaining security, can support a broader range of AI transitions for work. He added Fasoo will use the KIST project, which combines its strengths in data security and management with the latest AI technology, as a stepping stone to accelerate its push into the market as a specialist in deployable AI with security controls.
