[DigitalToday reporter Chi-gyu Hwang (황치규)] Google is introducing a new desktop mode for Pixel phones and tablets, The Verge reported on Monday.
The feature will be included as part of the March Pixel update. When Pixel 8 and later devices are connected to an external monitor via USB-C, they will provide a desktop-like multi-window environment.
The mode supports a mouse and keyboard. It can also be used on the Pixel 9 Pro Fold and Pixel 10 Pro Fold. The Pixel Tablet also offers desktop window features that allow windows to be stacked and resized.
Google has been working with Samsung since last year to improve the DeX feature. Through this, it is developing a function that automatically changes the layout when Android devices are connected to a large display.
