JoyCity said on Tuesday it will start a global closed test for its new soccer game Freestyle Football 2, which is being developed by its subsidiary Ure, on Jan. 30.
Freestyle Football 2 is the next installment in the Freestyle series, JoyCity's flagship intellectual property, and is being developed for an official launch in the first half of 2026.
The game uses a one-player, one-character control system to maximize the fun of 5-on-5 online team sports action centered on team play and strategic pass build-up.
It is designed to move away from a structure in which wins and losses are decided by stats. Instead, it features a fair competitive environment in which matches are decided only by a user's skill and tactics combining passes, shooting and defensive techniques and skills.
The closed test will run from Jan. 30 to Feb. 2 on the console platforms Xbox and PlayStation. It will check key gameplay elements such as match stability, character balance and controls for users worldwide.
JoyCity will offer various benefits to users during the test period. All users who participate will receive a limited-edition item and an icon that can be used after the game's official launch.
Various events will also be held through official Discord and social media channels, and the company plans to gather user feedback through the user community during the test period.
