Indian startup Emergent, which develops an AI-based vibe-coding platform, has raised $70 million in a Series B investment round led by SoftBank Vision Fund 2 and Khosla Ventures, TechCrunch reported on Jan. 20 local time.

The investment values Emergent at about $300 million. Emergent, founded seven months ago, is now posting $50 million in annual recurring revenue. Founder Mukund Jha said demand is surging in key markets including the United States, Europe and India, and its recently launched mobile app-building service is also growing quickly.

Emergent is headquartered in San Francisco, but 70 of its 75 employees work in Bengaluru, India.

Emergent competes in the AI-based coding platform market with Lovable, Cursor and Replit. It plans to use the new funding to expand its team and accelerate product development.
