Microsoft is preparing an ad-supported free Xbox cloud gaming service, The Verge reported on Jan. 20.
Microsoft is testing a free streaming option for Xbox Insider users.
The report said Microsoft has added one hour of ad-supported playtime per session to the Xbox app, which allows up to 5 hours of free play in internal testing. Users must watch about 2 minutes of ads before streaming games. After watching ads, they can play certain owned games, Weekend Free Play Days titles and Xbox Retro Classics games.
Microsoft has officially confirmed the ad-supported free cloud gaming plan and plans to announce it soon and run a public test.
