[Digital Today Ho-jeong Lee] NCSoft has launched a second legal response against users of illegal programs in Aion 2.
On Jan. 20, NCSoft said it submitted a complaint to Seoul’s Gangnam Police Station against 7 users who used illegal macro programs. It follows a first criminal complaint filed on Dec. 12 against 5 users.
NCSoft said the accused repeatedly used unauthorized programs. They are suspected of obstructing normal service operations and damaging the in-game economic system through account sales and distribution of in-game goods.
The company said it has sanctioned 727,748 violating accounts in a total of 65 rounds since Aion 2 was released to foster a healthy ecosystem. It has also shared the results of its responses to macros through live broadcasts and notices and has signalled a tough stance.
NCSoft said it will continue taking strong measures after this second response. It is continuously monitoring and analysing accounts suspected of using illegal programs.
An NCSoft official said, "We will continue without wavering to pursue strong legal action and apply strict operating policies to eradicate illegal programs." The official added, "We will take immediate legal action against confirmed users to prevent harm to users."
