Boston Consulting Group Korea (BCG Korea) said on Tuesday it promoted partner Byung-ryeol Kwak (곽병렬) and partner Yoon-ju Kim (김윤주) to managing director and partner and hired Jung-hoon Lee (이중훈) as an MD partner. With the appointments, BCG Korea said it has established a 30-member leadership group, including 7 lead partners and 23 MD partners.

New MD partner Kwak is a service operations specialist. He led projects in operating model innovation, cost structure transformation and generative AI-based process innovation in non-manufacturing industries including finance, telecommunications and retail. New MD partner Kim is a specialist in institutional investors and private equity. She provided advice on mergers and acquisitions, portfolio value enhancement and the advancement of investment strategies.

New MD partner Lee is with BCG X. He led projects to build AI- and data-based decision-making systems and improve work productivity in finance, manufacturing, heavy industry and energy. He has experience executing AI transformations from applying technology and embedding it in organisations through delivering results.

BCG Korea said the appointments respond to business reshaping and industrial structural shifts centred on AI. It said it plans to strengthen roles that take responsibility beyond strategy formulation through execution and delivering results.

BCG Korea said it will combine global BCG's industry and functional expertise with BCG X's AI and digital execution capabilities and the Seoul office's industry specialists. It plans to advance a collaboration model in which a single team is responsible from strategy through execution and delivering results.
