Primary school students gathered for a Digital Ethics Golden Bell quiz aimed at promoting correct digital use and ethical awareness among youth.
The Broadcasting Media Communications Committee and the National Information Society Agency said on Dec. 8 that they held the 2025 Digital Ethics Golden Bell final in Seoul on Dec. 6 for fourth to sixth graders from 17 cities and provinces.
This was the third edition of the event since it was first held in 2023. Topics covered proper use of digital content, personal data protection, cyberbullying prevention, and ethics related to generative AI risks and advanced manipulation videos.
Fifty-one students who achieved top scores in regional preliminaries advanced to the final. Jeong-an Oh, a sixth grader at Geulbit Elementary School, became the last remaining contestant and won the top award. Sixth graders Ha-won Yang and Do-hyun Lee from Samgak Elementary School reached the final stage and received excellence awards.
Oh said preparing for the event helped deepen understanding of digital ethics and its importance, adding that the student plans to continue practicing digital ethics with friends at school.
Online content creator Syuperman joined a Digital Ethics Empathy Talk Concert held before the final and shared views and experiences on the importance of digital ethics with students.
Shin Young-kyu, director of the Telecommunications Service Policy Bureau, said early education is important as daily life is closely linked with digital environments, adding that the government will support efforts to ensure youth are not exposed to harmful environments and can enjoy a safe digital world.
