Tada has launched a franchised taxi cooperative. Mobility platform Tada launched the franchised taxi cooperative The Premium Taxi Cooperative and began operations this month, it said on Jan. 20. The Tada cooperative combines platform ride-hailing demand using a regulatory sandbox for integrated operations across the Seoul metropolitan area with a member-led autonomous operating model.

The platform provides wide-area ride-hailing demand and a dispatch system across the Seoul metropolitan area. Members directly manage revenue generated through self-directed driving. The company said the structure is designed to secure both flexibility and profitability by dividing roles between the platform and drivers.

Cooperative members participate in operations through capital contributions. They can set their own driving schedules without fixed shifts, allowing flexible work that can be combined with childcare, second jobs and other personal commitments. All remaining profits, excluding vehicle costs, accrue to members.

At launch, 10 member vehicles were deployed for initial operations. Tada is expanding operations with a target of securing at least 50 member vehicles. Based on early operating results, it plans to consider launching second and third cooperatives.

A Tada official said, "We want to create a sustainable taxi ecosystem through stable demand and an autonomous work environment." The official added, "We expect the cooperative model will strengthen a horizontal partnership between the platform and drivers."
