Naver Pay said on Monday that 1 in 3 users who received point benefits last year experienced annual benefits of at least 50,000 won. Users who received at least 100,000 won in annual benefits also accounted for 1 in 5 of the total, it said, with the share of high earners rising sharply in 2025.

About 30 million users experienced point benefits in 2025. Of those, 17.31 million users received cumulative benefits of at least 10,000 won, about 33 percent of the population.

Among all users who experienced benefits, 9.56 million (33 percent) earned at least 50,000 won in points a year and 6.36 million (22 percent) earned at least 100,000 won. The number of users who experienced annual benefits of at least 50,000 won and 100,000 won rose 12 percent and 20 percent, respectively, from a year earlier.

The expansion in high earners is analysed as stemming from a broader Npay point ecosystem as users accumulated experiences earning and using points across a range of online and offline payment locations in and outside South Korea.

Last year, 18.4 million users, or 63 percent of the total, experienced point benefits after making Npay payments at merchants outside Naver platforms such as Naver Shopping and Webtoon.

External merchants expanded broadly to include online partners such as Baemin, Agoda, Kream and Market Kurly, as well as everyday services including tax payments, transportation, insurance and fuel, and offline in-person payment partners such as convenience stores, supermarkets and duty-free shops, and cafes and bakeries.

Users who experienced earning benefits through point draws and stamp programs after domestic in-person payments rose 20 percent from a year earlier. Users who received annual benefits of at least 10,000 won through domestic in-person payments alone totalled 833,000, and those who experienced benefits of at least 30,000 won totalled 253,000.

Overseas payments also increased sharply. Npay overseas payment users totalled 530,000 last year. Users who experienced earning benefits through overseas QR payments rose 154 percent from a year earlier, and those who experienced benefits through the prepaid Npay Money Card increased 120 percent.

Over the past year, overseas QR payments were used in 47 countries and the Npay Money Card in 167 countries. The user who earned the most points through overseas QR payments accumulated 400,000 won over the year, and the user who received the most benefits through the Npay Money Card accumulated 1.85 million won over the year.

Users who experienced point benefits through financial services also increased sharply. Users who received point benefits through various promotions, including loan interest support and credit score management services, rose more than threefold from a year earlier to a cumulative 8.66 million. Users who experienced loan-related benefits totalled 7.51 million, and those who experienced benefits in insurance, including overseas travel insurance and an insurance home revamp, totalled 1.15 million.

Npay's total payment volume last year was 86 trillion won, of which about 40 trillion won came from users who have been with the service for 10 years since its launch in 2015. Those users' 2025 payment volume grew 22.2 times compared with 2015.

Naver Pay CEO Sang-jin Park said, "The reason Npay has been able to establish itself as an essential daily service for the entire population is thanks to users who have experienced point benefits." He added, "We will continue to expand tangible benefits and strive to make Npay grow together with a wide range of age groups."
