Cloud-based software company ServiceNow has acquired Israeli startup Traceloop, which specialises in AI agent technology. The purchase price was not disclosed, but Israeli outlet Calcalist reported on March 2 that it was estimated at $60 million to $80 million.
Traceloop provides technology that can improve AI agent performance based on its own open-source project, OpenLLMetry.
Previously, improving AI agent performance required relying on repeated experiments by manually adjusting prompts. Traceloop shifts this to an automated evaluation system, supporting developers to identify problems early, track model behaviour in real operating environments and deploy fixes with higher confidence.
Traceloop said, "AI observability is not a choice but a foundational element." It added, "Combining the ServiceNow AI Control Tower and Traceloop can deliver intelligent governance workflows through deeper observability."
ServiceNow has previously shown an aggressive approach to mergers and acquisitions, buying Armis Security for $7.75 billion and Pyramid Analytics for an undisclosed amount, among other deals.
