HS Hyosung Information System, a provider of AI and data infrastructure solutions, said on Sunday it supported StradVision’s data lake upgrade project.

The company said StradVision, an AI-based vision recognition technology firm for autonomous vehicles, operates its own AI data pipeline that links the full process from data collection to AI training and validation, based on real driving data generated from customer vehicles worldwide.

HS Hyosung Information System pursued an AI infrastructure upgrade and solution introduction project to expand StradVision’s data lake to support large-scale unstructured data processing and a high-performance GPU analysis environment.

HS Hyosung Information System introduced HCP (Hitachi Content Platform) object storage for StradVision. It designed the system so large-scale unstructured data tasks previously handled in the cloud could also be processed on-premises. The company said it implemented an environment that can run the same workloads at about 30 percent lower cost than in the cloud.

It also provided VSP One File, a high-performance all-flash NAS storage system, to ease bottlenecks that occurred in the GPU-based AI training and validation environment.

Kim In-soo, head of StradVision’s Data Innovation Center, said the data lake upgrade would increase the speed of AI model development and validation and strengthen business competitiveness to respond more nimbly to global customer demands. He said cooperation with HS Hyosung Information System, which provided design and technology optimized for StradVision’s environment beyond simply supplying infrastructure, made it possible to implement AI infrastructure with both stability and scalability.

He said the company would continue to strengthen its role as a partner by working on and supporting infrastructure strategies from a mid- to long-term perspective so AI companies such as StradVision can continue to grow.
