Toss Bank's executive candidate recommendation committee has recommended incumbent CEO Lee Eun-mi (이은미) as the next chief executive candidate.
The committee said on Tuesday it made the decision at a meeting on the afternoon of Feb. 27 at Toss Bank's headquarters in Seoul's Gangnam district.
Committee Chairman Jeong Yun-mo (정윤모) said Lee's outstanding management capabilities during her last term, along with four core pillars underpinning them — growth, profitability, sustainability and soundness — played a decisive role in helping Toss Bank make a leap. He said she has the optimal leadership to continue leading the organisation and sustaining growth based on a future vision.
The committee also judged that since Lee took office, qualitative profit growth has been achieved on the back of solid financial results.
Jeong said Toss Bank's ongoing push for an AI shift, the building of a technology-based safety net and the expansion of its global business are areas expected to strengthen future competitiveness amid uncertain market conditions. He said Lee's strength is strategic insight that can broadly expand business areas such as customers' asset management, foreign exchange and corporate finance.
Lee, who was recommended as the final candidate, is set to take office as the next CEO after approval at a regular shareholders meeting on March 31 and by the board.
