Hana Financial Group said on Tuesday it is starting to recruit companies to participate in its Hana Power On innovative enterprise internship, which supports the shared growth of social innovation enterprises and job seekers.

The programme links social innovation enterprises working to solve social problems with job seekers such as youths, new seniors, women with career experience, and people with disabilities. It is a Hana Financial Group programme to create social value by supporting corporate growth while contributing to addressing job issues for vulnerable groups.

Hana Financial Group will recruit participating companies through March 16. It plans to provide internship opportunities to a total of 250 job seekers by linking them with companies selected through screening.

For selected companies, it will support the wages of internship participants for 3 months. If interns are converted to permanent employees, it will additionally provide 2 months of labour costs to raise job retention and the permanent conversion rate.

This year, it will increase the number of supported companies by 20 from a year earlier and raise wage support by 100,000 won. It will provide up to 2.3 million won per month to a total of 250 innovative companies.

It also plans to provide company representatives and HR managers with sessions on the latest trends in using AI, labour-management lectures and training to strengthen organisational capabilities, to support talent acquisition and sustainable job creation.

Eligible companies include (preliminary) social enterprises, village enterprises, social ventures and cooperatives. Selected companies can choose interns suited to their characteristics from types including youths, people with disabilities, new seniors in their 50s and 60s, and women with career experience, including marriage migrant women.

A Hana Financial Group official said the internship is a programme that supports shared growth for companies and job seekers, and that it has so far supported a total of 935 social innovation enterprises and matched them with job seekers from vulnerable groups. The official said Hana Financial Group will continue to actively pursue social value activities to create jobs for diverse members of society.
