Pearl Abyss said on Tuesday that its open-world action-adventure game Crimson Desert was selected in 2 “most anticipated game” categories at the 17173 Game Awards run by 17173, a major Chinese games outlet.

The 17173 Game Awards is an annual game awards event held by 17173 at the end of each year. It selects winners through user voting and editor evaluation among games that drew attention during the year.

Crimson Desert was named in the “most anticipated game chosen by 17173 users” and “global anticipated title selected by 17173 editors” categories.

In the user-picked most anticipated game category, Crimson Desert and GTA 6 were the only overseas games selected, while the remaining selections were Chinese games. In the 17173 editors' global anticipated title category, major global upcoming titles were included, such as GTA 6, Marathon and Tomb Raider: Legacy of Atlantis.

Crimson Desert participated in BilibiliWorld and ChinaJoy last year, expanding its touchpoints with local gamers in China. During the events, a line formed at the Crimson Desert booth, drawing strong interest from local gamers.

Crimson Desert is scheduled for worldwide release on March 20 (Korea time) for PC and console platforms. Preorders are under way on its official website, and it supports PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, Steam, Apple Mac and the Epic Games Store.
