Kakao Entertainment said on Sunday it will present its flagship popular intellectual property (IP) "Tomb Raider King" as an animation.

The title will air in July through major broadcasters in Japan including Fuji TV and Kansai TV. In South Korea, it will be available via Aniplus and global streaming platforms. A promotional video (PV) was released on the Japanese official website that opened on Jan. 16.

The original "Tomb Raider King" is a KakaoPage hit that made the million-page list as both a web novel and webtoon. The webtoon has logged 500 million cumulative views in South Korea and overseas.

The anime brings together a South Korean production company and a Japanese voice cast. Production is handled by Studio Eek, a South Korean animation studio known for "Leafie, A Hen into the Wild" and other works.

The voice cast is made up of well-known Japanese voice actors. Yoshimasa Hosoya, known for "Attack on Titan", voices the main character Seo Joo-heon. Saori Hayami, known for "Spy x Family", plays the heroine Irene Holton. Junichi Suwabe, known for "Jujutsu Kaisen", takes the role of villain Kwon Tae-joon. The band QWER also participated in singing the opening theme song, "Show Down".
