Messe Muenchen said on Monday that analytica Hanoi 2026, billed as the world’s largest exhibition for laboratory and analytical equipment, will be held in Hanoi on April 22-24. More than 150 global companies and brands, including Merck, Anton Paar, RICO and FOSS, will participate. South Korea’s CHC Lab and Daehan Scientific will also take part.

Investment in research infrastructure is concentrating in northern Vietnam. As the region shifts from being a production base to an industrial cluster with research, testing and certification functions, global companies are turning their attention to it. It said the construction of research and quality-control facilities is being concentrated in a northern industrial belt linking Hanoi, Bac Ninh, Hai Phong and Hung Yen. Near Hanoi, a roughly 300-hectare pharmaceutical and biotechnology industrial complex is under development in Hung Yen province. This is expected to drive a full-scale increase in demand for analytical and testing equipment.

According to Messe Muenchen, Vietnam’s life sciences and analytical instruments market is expected to grow to $22.9 billion in 2033 from $13.8 billion in 2025. The company put the average annual growth rate at about 8 percent, citing manufacturing upgrades, tighter export quality regulations and expansion in the pharmaceutical, food and semiconductor industries.

Vietnam’s demand for analytical instruments has been centred on Ho Chi Minh City in the south. Recently, the centre of gravity has been shifting to the north. In the north, where electronics and semiconductor production lines are concentrated, demand is also increasing for process quality management and materials analysis equipment.

The exhibition will run academic events alongside practical programmes. A conference involving the Vietnam Association of Analytical Sciences and VNU University of Science will cover topics including green and environmental chemistry, food safety, semiconductor processes and biopharmaceuticals. Participants are also set to discuss strategies for responding to international regulations such as ISO/IEC 17025 and GLP, as well as the outlook for the laboratory market.

A "Live Lab" area at the venue will recreate a real laboratory environment and demonstrate how equipment operates. It is designed so visitors can directly compare and verify equipment performance. The organiser explained that it will support adoption decisions by research institutes and manufacturers.

Michael Wilton (마이클 윌튼), CEO of Messe Muenchen Asia, said, "Northern Vietnam is a region where demand for laboratory innovation is rising rapidly." He said, "Through our first event in Hanoi, we will strengthen connections between global solution companies and local research and industrial communities."
