[DigitalToday reporter Ji-young Lee] Woori Financial Group said on Thursday it held a launch ceremony for Dinolab Seoul cohort 7 on Jan. 15 at the Dinolab Gangnam Center in Seoul's Gangnam district.
Dinolab is Woori Financial Group's open innovation program to discover and nurture startups with innovative technology to secure future growth engines and provide productive financial support.
The latest cohort selected 7 companies, including Design&Practice in AI fintech, Mobawheel in mobility, BHSN in legaltech and AIMS in insurtech, as well as Webearsoft, Innobat and Fetching.
Major group affiliates including Woori Bank, Woori Card, Woori Financial Capital, Woori Investment & Securities, Woori Venture Partners, Tongyang Life Insurance and ABL Life Insurance took part in the selection process, focusing on business viability and investment potential.
About 40 people attended the ceremony, including Ok Il-jin, vice president of Woori Financial Group's digital innovation division, representatives of the selected companies and officials from group affiliates. In the second-part networking session, startups and affiliate officials met one-on-one to discuss specific cooperation plans and explore practical linkage opportunities.
Ok said, "This Dinolab Seoul cohort 7 is made up of teams that have both technological strength and business potential." He added, "We will continue to create success stories of shared growth through collaboration and investment with group affiliates, going beyond simple nurturing."
