JoyCity said on Thursday it has completed the 2025 championship, an offline tournament for its online basketball game Freestyle, to select national representatives for a Korea-China competition.

The tournament was set up to choose South Korea's national team for the Freestyle Korea-China Competition that starts on Jan. 31. Teams selected through advance registration took part. They played a league-format preliminary round followed by a final-four tournament.

The venue also ran special events for spectators. JoyCity gave away gifts such as premium characters and event cash through a prize draw.

Final won the tournament after showing overwhelming skill. 901 finished second, Unknown third and Battle fourth to earn national team status.

The four teams will compete as South Korea's representatives in the Freestyle Korea-China Competition, to be held from Jan. 31 to Feb. 1 at SOOP Freecup Studio near Samseong Station in Seoul. They are set to face China's national team in a match for pride.

This year's Korea-China Competition will have a total prize pool of 35 million won.

A JoyCity official said the company will run the tournament successfully based on years of experience operating the Korea-China Competition and various tournaments. The official said it will also upgrade overall systems, including refereeing, player management and tournament operations, to strengthen global e-sports competitiveness.
