Woowa Brothers, operator of Baedal Minjok, and logistics services unit Woowa Youth held the 2025 Baemin Rider Festa Awards on Jan. 15 at Baemin Rider School in Hanam, Gyeonggi province, the company said on Thursday.

The event was billed as the industry’s first offline awards ceremony, held to encourage riders for their work over the year. About 350 riders and family members attended.

Awards were presented in 7 categories, including the Baemin Hero Award, Local Hero Award and Baemin Rookie Award. About 30 riders and partner companies were recognised. Winners received trophies, prize money and motorcycles, including a Honda PCX125.

In welcoming remarks, Woowa Brothers Chief Executive Kim Bum-suk said, "The end of the Baemin service is customer satisfaction, and we know well that it depends on riders." He added, "We will become a platform that can be trusted and stay together for a long time."

A rider who received the Baemin Hero Award said in remarks, "I feel proud that being a rider is fair work where you are rewarded as much as you make the effort, regardless of age or gender." The rider added, "I am grateful to Baemin for creating a healthy delivery ecosystem and to the self-employed who are with us even amid difficult economic conditions."

The Baemin Rider Festa, which started last year, is a rider-only programme that includes checking year-end settlement data and prize draws. This season, about 50,000 riders took part.

A Baedal Minjok official said, "Riders are Baemin’s valued partners for mutual growth." The official added, "We will continue to do our best to create a safer and more sustainable delivery environment by reflecting voices from the field."
