Cloudflare will acquire AI data marketplace company Human Native as part of efforts to build a fair trading system between AI developers and content creators, CNBC reported on Thursday. The deal value was not disclosed.

Cloudflare acquired Human Native to innovate AI data trading and strengthen content compensation models, CNBC reported.

Cloudflare CEO Matthew Prince said, "Content creators should have control over their work and be able to decide for themselves whether it is optimised for AI." He said, "The key is to support fair and transparent trading of trusted, high-quality data."

He underscored plans to build a system, based on Human Native, to compensate creators for content that AI developers use to train models. Human Native will manage these transactions. Cloudflare last year launched an AI crawling control product, offering features that restrict or monetise how AI bots collect web data.
