Woori Bank said on Dec. 3 that it received a commendation from the climate-energy environment minister at the 2025 Carbon Neutral Living Practice National Convention, which was hosted by the Ministry of Climate, Energy and Environment and organised by the Korea Climate and Environment Network on Dec. 2.

The event, now in its 18th year, promotes the importance of carbon‑neutral practices under the theme of Carbon Neutrality 2050 with the Public.

The bank won the award for carbon‑neutral activities carried out with its employees and local communities and for its ESG performance. A campaign in April in which all employees donated unused smartphones and other waste electronics was highlighted as a representative eco‑friendly ESG initiative.

Chief executive Jeong Jin‑wan said small actions in daily life would become significant steps toward carbon neutrality. He said the bank will continue its ESG activities in 2026 so carbon‑neutral practices can spread.

Woori Bank has also received the environment minister’s award at the Carbon Neutral Competition in 2022 and the Resource Circulation Practice Competition in 2024.
