Smilegate's global game platform Stove will hold the indie game awards ceremony, the 2025 Stove Indie Awards, the company said on Jan. 15.
The Stove Indie Awards spotlights titles that drew strong support from users over the past year and helped build the platform's value. It is a festival enjoyed by creators and users. Stove strengthened discounts and participatory events to help more users experience nominated and winning titles at this year's awards as well.
This year's nominees include 21 titles such as "Clair Obscur: Expedition 33," "Artis Impact" and "Eternal Strand." Winners will be selected by reflecting Stove Indie internal judging and user participation elements.
To mark the awards, Stove will run promotions through Jan. 25. Each of the 21 nominated titles for 2025 will receive a dedicated 15 percent discount coupon per title, and a 10 percent discount coupon that can be used across all games in the Stove store will be issued daily, one per day. Coupons can be used during the period without duplication.
Users can directly choose winners through voting. A total of 4 categories will be decided 100 percent by user vote: "Heart-Pounding Subculture" for games that build an appealing world and immersive narrative, "Best Localizer" for offering higher immersion and enjoyment through Korean localization, "Best Alliance" for games that grew and launched through close communication with users starting from Indie Boost Lab, and "Creator Spotlight" for games that drew strong interest and became a talking point among streamers and reviewers. The "Frontier" and "Stove Ambassador" categories will be selected through Stove's internal judging.
A comment event will also be held for users to support and recommend memorable games among the nominees. Selected participants will receive various benefits, including Naver Pay points.
