Kim Seung-yeon (김승연), chief executive of Next Securities, has won reappointment. During the new term, Next Securities plans to focus on fully launching retail services for individual investors and building a stable operating framework.

Next Securities said on Sunday that its board meeting on Oct. 14 last month approved Kim’s reappointment as CEO. The new term runs for two years from Oct. 29, 2026.

Since starting his first term in October 2024, Kim has led efforts to add a retail business based on artificial intelligence and video content to a business structure centered on derivatives brokerage.

In the new term, the company will focus on bringing the retail services it has prepared to the market.

Next Securities plans to first launch an open API service for individual investors and then sequentially provide a mobile trading system.

It plans to expand trading services for individuals into a new business pillar while maintaining its existing derivatives and investment banking businesses.

The company has prepared retail services differentiated from existing securities firms, including providing investment information using AI and video content. After the service launch, it plans to focus on stable system operations and expanding its customer base.

Next Securities started in 1997 as Hyundai Futures and has operated with a focus on derivatives brokerage and investment banking businesses.

After changing its name to Next Securities in December 2024, it has continued its existing businesses while preparing to enter the retail market.
