Korea Investment Securities has revamped its mobile trading system (MTS) Korea Investment app, expanding tailored features such as consolidated pension asset viewing, dividend reinvestment and investment information for children’s accounts.
Korea Investment Securities said on Sunday it updated the Korea Investment app based on customers’ actual usage data, focusing on simplifying the process from searching for investment information to trading.
It enabled users to view pension assets, previously split by account such as pension savings and individual retirement pension (IRP), in a consolidated format by type on the home screen’s “My” tab. Users can check the status of their overall pension assets without moving to a separate menu.
It also revamped the watchlist screen, which customers use frequently. Users can choose between “simple view” and “detailed view” depending on their investment experience and demand for information.
The simple view shows core information, while the detailed view provides additional information such as trading volume and trading value.
It also adjusted quote and stock-management functions. Users can check current and indicative quotes in sequence, and more easily distinguish stocks eligible for pre-market and after-market trading.
For overseas stocks, it displayed company logos and tickers next to stock names. It also added functions to select a watchlist group directly during stock searches or create a new group. The existing watchlist screen will continue to run together for the time being, considering the customer adjustment period.
It also simplified the process of reinvesting dividends. It enabled users to link stocks that have paid dividends directly to “collect stocks” from the “My Dividends” screen.
Using usage data for fractional-share and whole-share stock collecting for South Korean and U.S. stocks, it also provides information on stocks and exchange-traded funds (ETFs) that other customers collect most often.
It also introduced “children’s stock trends” for users of accounts in a child’s name. It provides key investment information and the stocks most held in children’s accounts, so parents can refer to it when choosing investment products for their children.
It added a “shareholders only” filter to stock discussion boards, allowing users to see only posts from customers who actually hold the stock.
For the service that provides global research content by voice, it applied a function that highlights the sentence currently being read. It also simplified the bond screen around key information such as maturity dates and interest payment dates.
For brokerage-type individual savings accounts (ISA), it added an automatic purchase function for repurchase agreements (RP) so idle funds in the account can be managed.
A Korea Investment Securities official said, “We focused on improving services so customers can access a range of investment information easily and conveniently,” and added, “We will continue to provide an intuitive and convenient investment environment.”
