[DigitalToday reporter Ho-jeong Lee (이호정)] Neptune has expanded its local service channels by supplying its idle shooting RPG 'Gunman Cat' to China's WeChat mini games.

Neptune said on Sunday it converted the game it publishes, 'Gunman Cat', into an H5 game and introduced it on WeChat mini games.

'Gunman Cat' is an idle shooting RPG based on a concept of a gun-toting cat mining trees. Neptune has handled publishing since June and has recorded 6.5 million global cumulative downloads and 25 billion won in cumulative revenue.

In China, the mobile version is being serviced through local publisher EZGame. It recorded $1.2 million in local revenue about one month after launch, and in the United States cumulative revenue has topped $4.2 million since service began in June.

Neptune supplied 'Gunman Cat' to WeChat in an H5 format. It plans to expand the lineup of games it supplies to WeChat.

WeChat mini games, operated by Tencent, have 500 million monthly active users and an average daily usage time of more than 60 minutes per user. It currently services about 20,000 games.

Neptune has supplied about 50 games to domestic platforms such as Toss, KakaoTalk, Kakao Pay and OneStore based on its own H5 game lightweighting and stabilization technology.

Recently, it has also expanded distribution channels to overseas web game platforms such as Japan's LINE mini apps, CrazyGames and Yandex Games.

Kim Seong-hyeon (김성현), a team leader at Neptune's game development division, said, "Based on the global performance of Gunman Cat, we expanded the service area to China's WeChat." He added, "We will continue to advance our IP expansion strategy."
