Sh Suhyup Bank failed to confirm a candidate for its next CEO at a third meeting of its CEO recommendation committee. With the end of incumbent CEO Shin Hak-ki (신학기)'s term approaching, the committee plans to resume discussions later.

According to the financial industry on Oct. 26, the committee met in the afternoon to discuss selecting the next CEO candidate but did not recommend a final nominee.

It marked the third failure, following meetings on Sept. 22 and Oct. 6.

Shin and Lee Hyung-ju (이형주), head of the Financial Intelligence Unit (FIU), are competing for the top job.

The committee has five members, comprising three members recommended by the government side and two recommended by the National Federation of Fisheries Cooperatives. At least four members must agree to recommend a final candidate.

The committee plans to hold another meeting later to discuss the selection.

Shin's term expires on Nov. 17.
