Amazon Web Services took part in the Genesis Championship 2026, held from Oct. 22 to 25 at Woojeong Hills Country Club in Cheonan, South Chungcheong Province, as the official cloud AI partner. The tournament was co-hosted by the DP World Tour and the KPGA.
AWS supported tournament operations, broadcasting and the fan experience with data, AI and cloud technology. It provided a technology foundation that changes how golf is analysed, broadcast and consumed.
According to AWS, the DP World Tour runs tournaments in 26 countries and generates more than 5 petabytes of data per season. AWS converts such course data into real-time insights and delivers them to fans around the world in their own languages without delays.
In the past, DP World Tour data was scattered across multiple platforms owned by several partners and could not be used properly. Working with AWS, the DP World Tour built an integrated data environment with consistent security policies, governance, compliance, data loss prevention and guardrails, laying the groundwork to quickly adopt AI.
On this foundation, it implemented AI Shot Commentary, Virtual Twin, media asset management, agentic AI operations and a sustainability platform, among others. AWS said the Genesis Championship used a significant number of these technologies on site.
