Polaris Office

Polaris Office said on Oct. 26 it will launch a generative AI security product based on global security firm Netwrix's data loss prevention (DLP) solution, Endpoint Protector, and target the enterprise market.

The solution can inspect questions, commands and attachments that employees enter into generative AI. If sensitive information violates company-set security standards, it can block external transmission, the company said.

The company said security policies can be applied differently depending on department, user and job characteristics. It added this can reduce the risk of personal data and trade secret leaks without uniformly restricting enterprise use of AI.

Polaris Office is expanding its enterprise security business based on a managed service provider (MSP) partnership with Netwrix signed in April this year. Its strategy is to supply solutions tailored to customer security needs, including generative AI security as well as data security posture management (DSPM) and access control, to advance enterprise data protection systems.

It plans to use its enterprise customer base built through its existing document and business software business to pursue cross-selling of security solutions and expand into B2B businesses spanning AI, cloud and security.

A Polaris Office official said, "As enterprise adoption of AI expands, what matters is not restricting AI use but effectively controlling the risk of information leaks." The official added, "By combining our understanding of document and work environments with global security technology, we will provide an environment where companies can use AI with confidence and foster the security business as a new B2B growth engine."
