LG Uplus said on Oct. 25 it launched six “book and magazine packs” on its subscription platform Udok, combining e-books and digital magazines with coffee, movie and shopping benefits.
The products combine Kyobo Book Centre’s e-book subscription service sam or digital magazine service Moazine with daily-life benefits. Moazine offers about 2,400 domestic and foreign digital magazines, including Harvard Business Review (HBR) and Dong-A Business Review (DBR).
The lineup consists of 3 “book packs” offering a one-month unlimited Kyobo Book Centre sam pass and 3 “magazine packs” offering a one-month unlimited Moazine pass.
The book packs are split into a “book coffee pack” offering 5 MegaMGC Coffee Americanos, a “book movie pack” offering 1 CGV 1+1 ticket and 2 Americanos, and a “book shopping pack” offering 2,000-won vouchers each for Olive Young and Daiso and 1 Americano. The magazine packs also combine a Moazine pass with coffee, movie and shopping benefits, respectively. The monthly fee for all products is 9,900 won.
LG Uplus explained it prepared the products in line with a trend of increasing digital content consumption.
Jo Yong-sung (조용성), an executive director in charge of partnership business at LG Uplus, said, “We structured the products so customers can conveniently choose content and benefits that fit their lifestyle without having to search for multiple subscription services one by one.” He added, “We will continue to segment customers’ tastes and purposes of use and introduce various subscription combinations.”
