Woori Bank said on Tuesday it has signed an official sponsorship deal with esports team T1.
Woori Bank has contributed to expanding the esports base through activities including a main partnership with League of Legends Champions Korea, support for the Asian Games national team, and sponsorship of VCT Pacific, a Valorant esports competition.
T1, founded in 2012, is a global team that holds the record for the most wins in international League of Legends competitions, with 6 titles. It won the League of Legends World Championship held in Shanghai in 2025 to achieve its first three consecutive titles. Esports star Faker, whose name is Sang-hyeok Lee, serves as the team's captain.
Hak-gyu Lim, deputy head of the personal products marketing department at Woori Bank, said T1 is a leading professional esports team that has helped spread esports culture in South Korea and around the world through the LCK. He said Woori Bank will continue to provide new experiences combining finance and esports culture through its collaboration with T1.
