[DigitalToday reporter Yoonseo Lee] An analysis said XRP could reach $630 to $660 over the long term if it posts the same rate of gains as in the 2017 bull market.
The Crypto Basic, a blockchain media outlet, reported on Oct. 10 local time that crypto analyst Patrick L. Riley (패트릭 L. 라일리) presented the long-term price scenario by applying the rise after the 2017 breakout to XRP’s weekly chart.
The key point of the analysis is that it applied the rate of increase, not the past price gains themselves, to the current structure. As a result, the upper end of the measurement line on a log chart formed near $650. It is a calculation that assumes a repeat of the past rate of increase, and does not mean a surge of the same magnitude will be reproduced.
For now, XRP faces a more urgent need to defend near-term support and break through resistance than to focus on long-term targets. On the chart used in the analysis, XRP traded at about $1.3758. The weekly candle began around $1.5203 and at one point slid to $1.3188, with a weekly decline of about 9.5 percent on the chart.
The first key upside zone is $3 to $3.60, the area of the prior cycle high. XRP would need to break above the downtrend line and reclaim that zone for the long-term upside scenario to carry meaning. Above that, $12 and $165 were presented based on the log channel, and the long-term upside path extended to around $650.
On the downside, the recent weekly low of $1.3188 was cited as the nearest support. A key zone for maintaining the long-term structure is $0.95 to $1.00. That range touches the long-term uptrend line and also serves as the reference point for the measurement line comparing past rise rates. If the uptrend line and the support zone around $1 break together, the premise of the long-term scenario could also be shaken.
On the weekly chart, the long-term uptrend line and the downtrend line extending from the 2025 high are converging. The gap between the two lines narrows toward late 2026 and early 2027. As a result, the immediate point to watch is whether XRP can hold support and break upward out of the compressed zone, rather than focus on lofty targets.
The chart also presented around $1,300 as an upper reference line for a long-term channel extended through 2027, but it is not a confirmed target. Riley also stressed that this does not mean XRP will rise straight to triple-digit prices, and said it must first break above the downtrend line and reclaim $3.5 to $3.6, the area of the 2025 high.
The core of the chart lies in the current structure rather than the long-term target level. Even if figures derived from a simple application of past rise rates draw attention, the practical yardsticks are focused on technical conditions such as support at $1 and the resolution of weekly compression.
@Jopie197802 The blue line is equal magnitude to the 2017 XRP Bull run which is the last ATH. https://t.co/Pop6IwKeTF
