KT said on Wednesday it will recruit university students for its 'Y Futurist' marketing supporters programme for 2026 through Jan. 25.

Y Futurist is KT Group's university student marketing supporters programme. It began in 2003 with the first Mobile Futurist cohort and marks its 24th year this year. KT will select 73 new members this year and run the programme with about 100 people, including members supported for second-year activities.

Students selected as Y Futurists can build practical skills by taking part directly in team projects related to KT businesses and Y brand marketing. They will carry out programmes including proposal writing and creative classes on content planning, with support for studies, as well as various activities to strengthen ties among members.

Y Futurist serves both as KT's official supporters group and as a Gen Z advisory panel. Through a two-month workshop with University Tomorrow 20s Research Institute, a Gen Z trend research organisation, participants will select and present trend keywords for the year at a trend conference. They will also carry out various programmes including task force team activities specialising in Y marketing planning and content production, and campaigns to promote KT businesses.

Eligible applicants are students enrolled at, or on leave from, domestic four-year universities who are in semesters 1 to 6, based on the 2026 academic calendar. Selected participants will be active for about six months, starting with an inauguration ceremony in late February through late August. After completing first-year activities, they can also apply for support for second-year activities.

Details on how to apply and on activities are available on the Y brand website.
