Semifive is expanding mass production of an AI semiconductor for security cameras that it developed with Hanwha Vision. Semifive said on Tuesday it will increase mass production of Wisenet9, an AI semiconductor for security cameras developed with Hanwha Vision. The company said additional mass-production orders for hundreds of thousands of units have continued since the fourth quarter, following initial orders in early 2025.

The expansion follows the application of an AI semiconductor tailored to the video security environment to commercial products. Hanwha Vision is strengthening its AI-based video security strategy and pursuing a shift to intelligent video security solutions. Semifive is continuing cooperation as a key partner in semiconductor design.

The AI security camera market is shifting from video recording-focused systems to intelligent systems based on real-time analysis and on-site response. Semiconductors embedded in products must meet low power use, real-time processing and cost efficiency at the same time.

The scope of product application and supply volumes are being expanded in stages. Semifive plans to expand its business into various vision AI fields based on this mass-production experience.

A Hanwha Vision official said demand is growing for dedicated semiconductors that can efficiently split and process high-definition video processing and AI inference. The official said that as demand for AI-based video security gradually expands, Hanwha Vision expects the mass production to further strengthen the competitiveness and market responsiveness of its intelligent security solutions.

A Semifive official said it is meaningful that the companies jointly developed an AI semiconductor applied to a key product of a customer with technological leadership in a fast-growing video security market and that it has led to actual mass production. The official said that as the scope of product application and supply volumes are being expanded in stages, Semifive plans to continue supporting customers in strengthening product competitiveness across various vision AI fields based on this mass-production experience.
