Generative AI-based presentation platform Gamma Tech unveiled Gamma 5 after a full overhaul to reduce uniformity in AI-made presentations.
SiliconANGLE reported on Oct. 6 that the version strengthens design differentiation for presentations, websites and visual content for social media, while focusing on linking production processes to internal corporate information and work tools.
Gamma 5 bundles a new editor, higher-performance AI agents and an expanded visual style library. Gamma said it was responding to complaints that AI-made presentations are increasingly marked by repetitive layouts, ordinary images and predictable designs.
John Noronha (존 노로냐), Gamma's co-founder and chief product officer, said there have been growing comments since early this year that outputs look similar and show clear signs they were made with AI. Gamma combined human design work with AI to expand its template library to several thousand items, and it runs more than 20 AI models, including models from Anthropic, OpenAI and Google and multiple image generators.
The new editor is designed to allow greater freedom in handling layouts and individual elements. The AI agent operates in an isolated execution environment, generating images, manipulating files, conducting web research and reviewing its own outputs, and it automatically checks for issues such as text overflow and cropped images.
Users can directly modify individual elements in the free editor. Before generating slides, they can refine an outline with the agent and adjust the logical flow, target audience and visual approach. The AI also suggests ways to refine presentation content to match audience interests.
Gamma made more active use of illustrations than AI-generated photos in visual elements. It made the decision on the view that illustrations can effectively convey business and educational information while reducing problems such as body distortion, inconsistent lighting and unrealistic detail.
About 20 connectors also allow external information to be pulled into presentations. Supported options include enterprise services such as Salesforce's Slack, Granola, Fireflies and Pathom. Existing user permissions are applied as is, and the agent can flag sensitive materials and indicate that discussion is needed.
It also supports importing and editing existing materials such as PowerPoint and PDF files. Gamma said the visual accuracy of imported materials, by its internal standard, rose to more than 97% from about 30% early in development. Brand preference settings, custom instructions and workspace templates are maintained across projects.
Gamma said some users saw presentation production time fall to about 30 minutes from 8 to 10 hours. Gamma plans to expand graphic design and video generation features and add a function that automatically updates sales presentations when new customer information enters connected work applications.
