Naver Pay (Npay) said on Tuesday it is expanding cooperation to revitalise local currencies and improve payment convenience, including starting applications for its offline integrated terminal, Npay Connect, at iM Bank branches.

Naver Pay and iM Bank have cooperated since 2024 to revitalise local currencies such as Daeguro Pay and the Pohang Love Card.

The two plan to expand distribution of Npay Connect, Naver Pay's offline integrated terminal, in the Daegu and Pohang areas to improve convenience for local-currency payments.

They will set up counters at iM Bank branches where customers can seek consultations and submit applications for Naver Pay Connect. The move aims to speed adoption in the region, improve payment infrastructure and encourage local-currency use. Merchants can complete the process from consultation to application in one stop by visiting a branch.

Npay Connect supports various payment methods, including Daeguro Pay and the Pohang Love Card. It is also linked to Smart Place, which allows stores to appear on Naver Search and Naver Maps, enabling the use of coupon and review functions.

Naver Pay and iM Bank plan to jointly run guidance and promotion channels for Npay Connect for local merchants, including those in Daegu and Pohang.

A Naver Pay official said, "We will continue cooperation with iM Bank so that Npay Connect can play a positive role in revitalising local currencies and local commercial districts in Daegu and Pohang."
